I started writing poetry in my teens. I began writing songs at about twenty years old, and hitchhiked around the country 'til I was twenty five. I decided to settle in Nashville for a while, and lived there for ten years. I played "writers nights" back then with Tom House, Mark Germino, David Olney, Steve Earle, and lots of other fellow writers. Now I live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
